What better way to welcome summer than spending a day having fun outdoors? Either if you are alone at your apartment at Génova 5 or you are staying with your family, these plans are for you!
Without leaving the city, you can take the underground (line 10) to Casa de Campo and get to Parque de Atracciones de Madrid in about 20 minutes. This year the amusement park is celebrating its 50th birthday with different activities, which include a photography exhibition showing the history and evolution of the park, the re-opening of the Auditorium-Theatre, new music shows and a new culinary project. Besides, you will find there attractions to suit every taste, from extreme free fall rides to attractions to enjoy with your little ones, and of course, lots of thrilling roller coasters and water rides.
Zoo Aquarium Madrid is near the amusement park, a 10 minutes’ walk. This space gathers mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and reptiles from the five continents. Its facilities include a zoo, an aquarium, an aviary, a dolphinarium and a small farm with domestic animals. There are also some restaurants, a picnic area, medical service and an electric train that can take you around the park. During the day, you can attend different talks and exhibitions with animals. And if you are keen on animals, you could also visit Faunia, a 15 minutes’ drive from your apartment. There you will be able to see different animals in recreations of their ecosystems and interact with some of them.
You can also drive to three other parks in less than half an hour from Génova 5, taking different directions. If you drive South to San Martín de la Vega, you will get to Parque Warner Madrid. Rush adrenaline in rides of different intensity, enjoy the shows, walk the theme areas and have a bite to eat in any of the various restaurants, buffets, kiosks and cafés within the park, always surrounded by a Hollywood atmosphere!
When the weather is really hot, go East on route M-503 to cool down in Aquopolis Villanueva de la Cañada, where slides, water rides and swimming pools are waiting for you. You can also relax in one of the 28 private areas of the park and enjoy a drink or a complete meal.
Finally, if you prefer a chill out plan, drive to Torrejón de Ardoz and visit Parque Europa: 33,000 metres of open space with 18 replicas of emblematic European monuments and a wide range of leisure activities in the nature.
