Summer days are getting longer and after two years of pandemic, we can once again enjoy all the plans that the capital has to offer.

We at Génova 5 have created a list with the best plans to beat the escape and enjoy the summer in Madrid.

Madrid’s terraces

Did you know that Madrid is the European capital that has the most hours of daylight per year? This makes it a city of “terraceo”.

As soon as the good weather and sunshine arrive, the streets fill up with people. Is there a better plan than sitting on a terrace with a refreshing drink?

There are thousands of terraces to discover in Madrid. Which one do you want to visit first?

Rooftops

You know what they say, from Madrid to the sky.

If you want to enjoy the best views of the capital while you have a cocktail and a snack, here is a post where we recommend the most beautiful rooftops in Madrid to enjoy the good weather.

Take notes!

Water parks in Madrid

  • Aquopolis

This is the most popular water park in Madrid because of its slides where you can reach 50kms/h (Turbolance, Boomerang or the Kamikaze). If you don’t like rides and speed, you can enjoy a quiet day at Malibu Beach.

Address: Av. Dehesa, s/n, (28691).

  • Warner Beach

The famous Warner Park in Madrid opened Warner Beach in 2014, a water park with a separate entrance where you can cool off and have fun in summer.

Themed in 1950s California, it has many water attractions for both children and adults, as well as a beach with natural sand.

If you want to spend the day at Warner Beach, it’s best to buy your tickets online in advance to get the best price.

Address: A-4, Salida 22, (28330)

Outdoor cinema

Outdoor cinemas are an original way to enjoy an afternoon of summer.

The Doré Cinema is a classic for all film lovers. You can enjoy the classics in their original version with subtitles on the rooftop.

Address: C. de Sta. Isabel, 3 (28012).

Swimming pools

The most appealing plan on hot days is to go for a dip in a swimming pool. You have several options to choose from: natural pools, municipal swimming pools or hotel swimming pools.

Madrid has some amazing natural pools, such as Las Presillas de Rascafría in the El Paular Valley, Las Berceas in Cercedilla or Riosequillo in Buitrago de Lozoya.

As for hotel pools, our recommendations are the pool at the Emperador Hotel (C. Gran Vía, 53, 28013), or the Gymage Lounge (C. de la Luna, 2, 28004).

We recommend Parque Deportivo Puerta de Hierro, a municipal swimming pool of 7,258 square metres (almost 7 times bigger than an Olympic swimming pool). It is located at Ctra. de La Coruña, Km 7 (28040).

If you come on holiday to Madrid in summer, do not hesitate to stay in our flats.
